Lifecycle States
Every token on Spawn moves through a defined sequence of states. These labels are canonical - use them exactly as written in headings, diagrams, and internal links.
The Four States
1. Spawning
The initiation moment. A spawner has defined the token's parameters, and it's about to enter the market. This state is transient - it resolves into the Bonding Curve Phase immediately.
2. Bonding Curve Phase
The active off-chain market phase. The token is tradeable via Spawn's bonding curve engine. Price discovery is live. No ERC20 has been deployed on-chain. This phase continues until the token either reaches the graduation threshold or is abandoned.
3. Graduation Milestone
The transition event. The token has hit the graduation threshold. The ERC20 deploys, on-chain liquidity is seeded, and the market transitions to on-chain mechanics. This state marks the boundary between the off-chain and on-chain phases.
4. After Graduation
The post-graduation on-chain phase. The token exists as a deployed ERC20 on the destination chain. Trading continues on-chain. Hook fees accrue to the FeeVault. Holder rewards become available.
Documentation Guidance
- Do not invent alternate names for any of these states in new documentation
- Use the state names as written, including capitalization, in headings and body text
- In diagrams, represent the states in sequence with the Graduation Milestone as an explicit transition marker, not a phase
